Be more specific. A cell from a table? A cell in a DBGrid? What do you mean?
If it's the selected value in a DBGrid just read the value of the field in
the dataset of the datasource of the current record in the dbgrid
AnsiString value;
value=DBGrid1->DataSource->DataSet->FieldByName("NameOfTheField")->AsString;
