i have been using ms/sql 6.5, 7.0 and about to migrate to sql/2k. i am using
ado 2.6. nothing is special to these two products. in reading all your
messages here, i think delphi will not help you much in term of transaction
oriented application. however, delphi provides you enough vcls/tools to
accomplish your goals. in transaction processing, i think you should use
mts, delphi has that. ms/access is merely a desktop database tool, to deploy
ms/access as multi users environment is asking for trouble. period! its a
nono for transaction processing! ms/sql server is the appropriate multi
users system. there are some sample ado projects shipped with delphi 5e if
you are insterested in. also, ms has its own ado site that is opened for
everyone who are interested in learning/using it
(http://www.microsoft.com/data). there is a very good book discuses nothing
but ado in delphi 5 (something like: ADOExpress and Delphi...? i see it
every week but i ran out of ram at present. sold at border book stores)
