I am using c++builder 5.0 with Adoexpress, and SQL Server 7.0. I setup a datamodule which uses ADOConnection, and several TADOTables linked to TDatasources. I set the ADOConnection connected property to false, which sets all my TADOTables active properties to false. I use ADOconnection->Open() to try to open my tables, but receive an access violation. If I keep my active properties set to true for the ADOConnection and ADOTables, everything works. I set my connectionstring in the ADOConnection, and I have no clue why I receive this access violation.
