What do people use for locking of records? I am using data modules and data queries. Before I do the post() I want to see if some or something else had changed the data. Is there an easy way to do this? I assume that transactions are one way but I would rather not have the record locked. The other way is with timestamps and see if it changes but that will mean some code. I was hoping there was a builtin way. Also I need to create unique IDs for the table on insert. I suppose within the database is the best way to do this. It would need to be within the same transaction as the insert() to be kosher. Again it all gets a little messy and I am after some nice clean way to do it. Thanks Rodos
