ADOCommand properties not available

Hi.

This relates to a post I made back in July. I am trying to set the "Output
Stream" property on a TADOCommand object in BCB5 in order to retrieve output
from SQLServer generated by SELECT...FOR XML. I understand that I need to set
the property before I execute the command, but I find that the
Properties->Count value before I execute the command is 0 and the property
does not exist. After the command is executed the Properties->Count value is
90 and the "Output Stream" property does exist. Sample code below.

My question is, how can I set the TADOCommand property before executing the
command?

Any advice would be gratefully received as I've been struggling with this off
and on for three months.

Thanks very much

Gordon

--------- sample code
..

ADOCommand2->Properties->Refresh();
i = ADOStoredProc1->Properties->Count; // i = zero

ADOCommand2->Execute();
ADOCommand2->Properties->Refresh();
i = ADOStoredProc1->Properties->Count; // i = 90 and "Output Stream" param
exists
