MSAccess

I'm attempting to use the dbGo components to access a MSAccess database.
I can setup the ADOConnection & it says that the connection is good. I
then drop an ADOTable component & set the connection to the
ADOConnection. When I attempt make it active, it complains about the
tablename not being set. I don't find tablename anywhere in the object
inspector. Where is it? Or am I not understanding how to use these
components?

I added TableName=Customer to the connectionstring & I don't get
complaints about the tablename anymore. I'm now getting a message
saying "Could not find installable ISAM". Not sure where to go now. Any
ideas?

Connection string:

Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=c:\yourfile.mdb

TableName is property of TADOTable.

It is better to use TADODataSet with client-side cursor and add where clause
to SQL command to retrieve only rows you need.

Thanks for the reply. But you didn't say where to find the table name.
It doesn't appear in the object inspector. So I put it into the
connection string. Now it doesn't complain about the table name. But I'm
getting an error message saying "Could not find installable ISAM". I
need to look at all of the records as I'm converting the data from MS
Access to Advantage.

What is your C++ Builder version? It is in object inspector for TADOTable in
C++ Builder 5 and C++ Builder 6.

I'm sorry. I should have included that in the original post. I'm using
BDS2006 - CBuilder and XP. And it is not in the object inspector for
this version. I do have CB5.

Property TableName is in object inspector in C++ Builder 2006 for TADOTable,
in category Database. Right-click on object inspector and select Arrange\By
Name, then properties will be in alphabetic order.

Hi Vassiliev,
The following is all that is in the object inspector for TADOTable:

Active
Connection
EnableBCB
MasterSource
Name
ReadOnly
Tag

I always sort by name as I find it easier to use. It's beginning to look
like I may need to reinstall BDS2006. I have installed all of the hotfixes.
