I protected my database with password in ms access via Tools->Security->Set database password, I use ADO connection and I enter user name: Admin and password: test; when I click on Test connection I get following error message:"The connection faild because of an error in initializing provider. Cannot start your application. The workgroup file is missing or opened excusively by another user". I'm using a correct password. What am I missing? Thanks in advance, Tom

I can remember that there are *two* places to set the password under connection string. You definitely selected wrong one. The right one is (if I remember well) in the last tab, and you must search it under some items. -- Best Regards, Vladimir Stefanovic "Tom" <tom@net.com> wrote in message news:4415a8c8$1@newsgroups.borland.com... >I protected my database with password in ms access via Tools->Security->Set >database password, I use ADO connection and I enter user name: Admin and >password: test; when I click on Test connection I get following error >message:"The connection faild because of an error in initializing provider. >Cannot start your application.
