Using ADOConnection->GetTableNames() returns a StringList of all tables in a database. I need to run queries only on user-defined tables from this list. How can I look at each table name and determine if it's a system table (e.g., CHECK_CONSTRAINTS)? TIA Mike

I'm new at this group mails for VCL and Borland work but love the stuff and at 79 have the time to play and learn as well. I've printed out what was said so far and this may lead to me getting my little Telephone book under way soon using VCL rather than VB. I've designed a couple of other simple ones such as Gas mileage for my car which work well but to find the way of writing the code is another thing for these Borland items and mind you I'm going to learn yet. What I really want though is very simple. Using an ACCESS database that I've made with just a few names etc I just want to set it up so that on turing on the computer I just find the name I want and the number of his-her phone will be there for me to klick and ring. Simple and with VCL should be a nice compact little program. My major problem is that I was away from this due to a Cancer Trial I was on so getting at it again and the lack of has slowed me down a little bit. Now I've talked enough and getting back at it. Grin Working with Learning Borland Builder in 21 Days as my first go again. Verne
