Hi, This is not typical ADO question but I hope that some of you know the answer... I have BCB6 and I want to deploy MS Access database with InnoSetup. What I must have (or buy) to obtain a legal right to deploy MS Access database to client's machine? -- Best regards, Vladimir Stefanovic

Nothing, assuming you have rights for database itself. You do not need MS Access to run your application (if it does not use Access type library, but accesses data using ADO or ODBC), Jet engine is installed with most Windows versions. Your users may need to download and install MDAC and/or Jet SP, both are available from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/ . //------------------------------------------ Regards, Vassiliev V. Hi, >Nothing, assuming you have rights for database itself. This is the point I'm interested in. I want to deploy one speciffic *.MDB file (already filled in) as a part of my installation... That means I deploy: EXE, INI, DLL, BPL,... , and MDB!!! Does that mean that I must have some speciffic version of MS Access or MS Office to deploy the MDB ? Best regards, Vladimir Stefanovic

No. It is enough if user has MDAC and Jet SP. Most versions of Windows have them yet (starting from Win98 and Win2000), they are installed with IE too. However if MDAC or Jet SP are old, users may need to update them from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads . //------------------------------------------ Regards, Vassiliev V.
