Thanks for the reply, I replaced the libmysql.dll in \Windows\System32\ 
(file size 228kb) with the one I found in my MySQL\bin directory (size 
244kb). I'm am now able to access the database, but now I have another 
problem - I know it's not related to this newsgroup, but I'll just try to 
get any advice I could - Now my PHPMyAdmin won't start. It says problem 
about the MySQL extention or something like that. Is the way I handle the 
replacement of the file (copy and past in to System32)correct? Is there any 
other way that will not cause problem to PHPMyAdmin?
