Hello all,

I am trying to find out to connect my C++ application to MYSQL. I use
Borland C++ Builder Enterprise Edition and MYSQL 4.0.16 on a Windows 2000
Server platform. I am trying for days allready but i keep getting errors
like: 'Unable to load LIBMYSQL.dll' and 'DBX Error: Invalid
Username/Password'

I tried several solutions (downloaded latest MySQL C++ API form
www.mysql.com) I have red several postings about this but it isn't clear to
me at all. The Borland website is really poor on giving information about
this subject of maybe it's to hard to find there.

What i would like to know:

Is it possible to connect to this version of MySQL?
Which driver do i need?
In what directory do i have to place this driver. (i red several suggestion:
in winnt/system directory, in winnt/system32 directory, in borlands lib
directory. Which dir is the right one?!
Do i have to make changes to the dbxconnections.ini and/or dbxdrivers.ini ?
Is there a website that discuss this in detail somewhere?
Does anyone have a good working example of the above?

I would like to thank anyone who can help me in advance because i am getting
kind of depressed of all this. Please thank you to reply in this newsgroup.

AFAIK, the Borland C++Builder dbExpress driver support MySQL 3.x only.
For a MySQL version 4 driver (for Delphi 7, but the driver should also
work just fine with C++Builder 6), see

Thanks for your help, i finally found out myself by placing the updated
driver (obtained from www.borland.com) in de Borland BIN directory.
