Hi and thanks for reading... I am using MS SQL Server 7.0 and MIDAS to create a database app. I have successfully created an app server test program and a client test program. These two programs and MS SQL server reside on the same NT 4.0 server. The application server is nothing more than a TTable and TDataSetProvider. The client app uses a TClientDataSet, TDataSource, TDataGrid???, and a TDCOMConnection to view the table. The client application works on the server but not remotely on a seperate client PC. The server app is an executable so I registered using regsvr32 (BTW, I can't find the export on the context menu of TTables, TQueries, and TProviders like the documentation suggest would be there). I recevie an exception when running the client app on a remote PC saying "error in string class". I have NOT registered the server app on the client PC and I don't really know how to. I mean I guess I could copy the server app executable over to the client PC and use regsvr32 but it seems that there should be an easier way....is there? Also, how can you connect a TTable or TQuery to a MS SQL view or stored procedure? In MS SQL server are stored procedures just fancy views that are more than just queries....they incorporate logic too? Thanks, Rich
