Delete records with Memofield?!?

I have a Table with a formatted memofield for rtf-text. If I delete
one or all records with 'Table.Delete' the size of the paradox-files
x.db and x.mb are not changing (getting smaller). The DatabaseDesktop
shows that the records are deleted but only if I empty the table
by the DatabaseDesktop the size of the files are correctly.
It is possible that the records are only marked as being deleted
and are still physically present??
How can I actually delete the records??
In the case of tables without memofields it functions correctly.
