Do I need to install IB client on client machine where my program works? Or VCL/BDE/SQL links can do connection without IB client? My app is going to use Interbase5 and becouse all database related things are done by program, I dont want to allow client/user to use other interactive tools as ISQL. I'm afraid that in this case client/user can modify database/tables using IB client tools, but I want that they do it only using my program. Does IB5 support password protected databases/tables in addition default username/password level security? If yes then I will not say this password our users and if they will connect to server via 3rd party program (using username/password that they use when running my program), they will not able to open tables becouse they dont know second password that my program knows. What do you all do in such situation? Also I found from IB5 doc that server supports up to 4 simultaneously connection for single login. Does it mean that default 5 user license shipped with BCB3 CD enables up to 20 connection?
