Hi everybody, I'm a newbie and have developed a multi-tiered apps using BCB3 + MIDAS and I'm facing this problem, please help! Let's say I have 2 client computer running the same client program connect to the apps server (I'm using Paradox Table with TProvider), it seems that the records I ApplyUpdates in the first computer are not automatically refreshed in the second one - I have to call ClientDataSetxxxx->Refresh( ) in my second computer, or click the Refresh Button in the TDBNavigator (associated to the clientdataset), or call the function ClientDataSetxxxx->Data = ClientDataSetxxxx->Provider->Data. I know that MIDAS has the ability to perform the Briefcase Model, but what I want now is vice versa. Last time I tried to create a thread that automatically refresh my clientdataset in a period of time, but I think that's not efficient because I'm opening at least 20 tables, which take a few seconds in a process. I've changed to "token-pasting" mode - refresh one table at a time, the delay problem is solved, but I still feel it's not efficient because not all tables are changed (mostly nothing is changed at all). Besides, the data in my detail table (in master-detail relationship) is not displayed after refresh and some weird error may occured. The question is: Must I create a background process that set and checks states of tables and then perform the refresh manually on the ClientDataSet, or there's a function/procedure/method that perform this operation, or there's something missing in my program (both server and client)? I really need your opinions because the background process is quite tricky, especially for master-detail relationship. Thanks a lot in advance, John C.
