Very curious phenomenon. The platform is BCB5. I have had a number of multi tier apps. running well under BCB4 for a few years. I recently upgraded to BCB5 and converted all the apps. to that platform, and I have developed a couple of new apps. as well. I'm using the BCB5 Socket Server running as an NT service under the local system account for all. I noticed when the client application opens the socket connection that two instances of the application server are started. I know this because I have small GUIs in each app. server and I can see two forms. I can also see this with the Task Manager - two processes each with its own program ID. This doesn't seem to affect the operation at all; all applications continue to run well, but I have this nagging feeling that my world may blow up shortly. Can anyone shed any light on this? What have I done wrong? Regards, John
