Hi, Me and four other Higher Informatics students have to do a project. The assignment is designing and implementing a helpdesk system, and we are planning to do this in Borland Builder 3 Client/Server. The basic idea is thus a database system. In our talks with the end-users (our teachers play a very convincing role ;) !) it became obvious that the application has to run on multiple computers (4 or so) so it has to be multi-tiered. Now, reading the book Borland C++ Builder Unleashed first edition, i saw that this client/server approach needed a full blown InterBase server or something similar. Being students and all, we obviously don`t have the cash to purchase such a system. My question: can anyone explain to me (us) the best solution for implementing this scheme. If we could do this running normal Paradox or Access tables would be indeed a super solution. If you need further information i would be happy to provide this, Hope you can help J. de Valk - Holland
