Hallo there
i have a problem, i would like in future to replace the BDE with
an othe Database engine, but one of my verry importent components are
the Infopower Components (wwDBGrid, wwFilter, wwSearchDialog). All my
many to many relation tabels are works of the basis from wwfilter.

What would you recommend for the best ant simplest
alternative to the BDE. The installations and the other problems with
BDE are to complicated.
So we have any programs for vessels at sea and we can't visit there
every week to
repair BDE problems. Othervise we can't install any complicated and
expensive thinks as MicrosoftServer, Oracle...
It was verry helpful for us when we find a BDE replacement, that can
works with dBASE, what is a real Client/Server solution, what also
properly works of single computer without network and if possible (its a

MIDAS function from BDE and i don't know the exactly term) that allowed
a user from a network workstation(e.g.notebook) to work in the network,
during the work he can disconnect his workstation from net, his program
can see this and is storing the files in an local file set, the user can

normaly work whis this filesets. Later when he connect his workstation
to the network and start the program the Database Engine is able to
recocnize that it must be a data change from local fileset to the server

database.I hope you undstand what i mean.

An other questions: what is meaning with Off-line transaction recovery?

Sorry for my bad english!

any ideas, suggestions or solutions?

Thanks and best regards

Andi
