I am having a couple issues with my ClientDataSets. The server RDM is using master-detail related DBASE tables. The detail table has a memo field in it. When no options are set on the provider, everything works nicely. However, when the Provider is set to poFetchDetailsOnDemand, when the client program opens, the detail ClientDataSet reports "Cannot perform this operation on a closed dataset" or something to that effect. Strange, all the datasets are active... After some tweaking, I found that if I set the detail ClientDataSet's active property to false and DataSetField blank, and reset those to their proper values in the AfterOpen event of the master ClientDataSet, then everything would load up fine. Great, kludgy but workable. Except... When attempting to view/read/write/associate the memofield of the detail dataset with anything, i get the "Invalid BLOB Handle in record buffer" error. I even get it the moment i associate a db control with that field in the design mode. Any ideas as to what my issues could be attributed to? I have done several tests and it all seems replicable. I am using BCB 6 Enterprise update 3 on NT 2000 Professional. Thanks in advance
