I would go with Paradox for as long as possible. 600 000 records is going to
start to get "choppy" for Paradox, despite the the ability to handle up to 1
million records. If you are happy with the performance, then leave everything
alone.

The minute you decid to get a Server, or, the Paradox performance is not
adequate, go to something like InterBase, MySql, and then MS SQL, perferable in
that order.

1 - Interbase has got a fairly small foot print, and is a very robust DBMS. It
is also inexpensive.

2 - MySql because it is free, and also has an average size DBMS engine. IT
should not eat up too many resources on your computer.

3 - MS Sql because, well, let me think about that some more ...:-)

Good Luck,
Nick
