Am having problems understanding ... Have a CDS linked throught DCOM to MIDAS server to TTABLE TTABLE has 3 "keys" - Indexes defined in the DataBase, they show in the mIDAS server table->Indexdefs[] array. looking through the indexdefs properties in the CDS shows only "default_order" and "changeindex". getindexnames() method returns same indexdefs->Items[0]->fields shows the field in thedefault index - all fine so far indexname is NULL ? q1? is it posssible in the CDS to "see" the indexes as seen by the ttable in the midas server & how q2? addindex appears to only work before a new CDS how do you add a new index to my CDS ? q3? setting indexname = fieldname gives acces violation "no such index" but I dont want to add the list of fields using indexfieldnames for maintenance purposes as the structure can/will change q4? am i looking at this completely wrong ? should I pass a message to the midas server to change the default index somehow ? Time delay/performance issues on this - can't sort locally as only require/need/have 1 record/result at a time. builder examples please only as i dont read "delphi" :-)
