This could be a bug in the Microsoft ODBC driver for Oracle.  What do you
find in your ODBC trace log if you enable tracing in your ODBC layer?  I
have found that this can determine of the problem is in the ODBC driver,
or the BDE.  In almost every case I have seen,  the problem has been in the
ODBC driver when working with Oracle databases...
