SQL nvarchar fileds with cursors

In a C++ Builder 4.0 project I create a cursor to retrieve some data from a
SQL Server Database. Some of the fileds of this DB are "nvarchar" type.

When creating the cursor ODBC give me no error but afterthat I check the
cursor FieldCount property and its value is "0".

If I change the fileds from "nvarchar" to "varchar" (the lenght is reduced
from 255 to 50) my cursor works properly.

Anybody Knows why?
Thank you in advance.
