I hope I am posting this message in the correct news group. This is my third attempt and I haven't received a single reply yet. If anyone has any idea on how to solve the problem described below I would really appreciate it!!! I have built an installation program for a BCB6 project using InstallShield Express. The project uses a MS Access database and I have the ODBC alias setup correctly and the progaem works. However, in order to get the ODBC stuff to install it requires the file ODBCJT32.DLL to be included in the installation build. When it tries to install this file I get an error message saying that it cannot install it because it is already present (an older version) and Windows is protecting it. After I acknowledge the message the installation proceeds and everything works as it should. This is not a message that I want my clients to see. Does anyone have any ideas? Jim Z

That file is part of JET which is included in MDAC. It is also protected by System File Protection on supported platforms. If you need to make sure it is present, include the latest MDAC merge module in your install. The MDAC merge module can correctly install/upgrade jet on any target Windows OS. Thanks very much, I'll give that a try. Jim "Mark Guerrieri" <mguerrieri@cmsgrp.com> wrote in message news:41ca0c4b@newsgroups.borland.com... > That file is part of JET which is included in MDAC.
