Hi!

I just wonder weather anyone out there know howto create a .hlp file which I
can include in my project?
I intend to create a manual for my project, so I'd like the manual to be in
the Help - Manual menue =)

Thanks

You have posted your question to all of these newsgroups:

The compiler has help file authoring tools in its HELP\TOOLS directory.

I bought HelpScribble. (ww.helpscribble.com)
I'm happy with it but cannot compare to other apps as I never tried anything
else.

The Microsoft Help Workshop compiler works just great. It's basically used by creating RTF files, with each help topic on its own page (a 'hard-page' made by Ctrl+Enter -- the compiler ignores/doesn't know about the 'soft-page' variety).

I like using the HCW package so much that I've created a template in WordPerfect (I'm still not finished creating the PerfectScript macros, but they're coming along). While I'm still developing, I go ahead and save in the regular *.wpd format, then when ready to compile and test the helpfile, I just "Save As..." to RTF-Help format. (*)

* Please note, however, that WordPerfect (or at least ver7, what I use) crashes trying to read those files saved as RTF-Help back into itself. So I just use the *.wpd as the "working copy".
