I have a strange problem. I'm trying to run a little app that accesses foxpro.dbf's via ODBC from one machine to another. On the target computer the app complains about missing files, namely paradox.lck, pdoxusrs.lck and a few others, namely tablename, but with a wrong extension (as if they were paradox files). What am I missing?

These files have to do with multi PC's accessing the DBF files at once... thus the BDE (I think) creates these files. You need all client apps to set netdir property to the same location on the network so that they all use the same lock info file. Thanks for that, but as I said: the files aren't present on the development box, either, nor is there a trace of them anywhere on the shared drive with the actual dbf-files. Cheers, Tink

They get created dynamically by the BDE. You must set properties on the Session variable (i think) or the TDatabase component. These files get created in the location you setup in the Global Session variable.
