ShowModal causes crash on win98/win2k but not xp

I have a program that opens a fairly complex secondary form using
showmodal. It
works perfectly on an XP with 512mb of memory. When I try to run it
on a Win2Kpro or Win98SE machine it hangs when I invoke the form.
Whatever gets clicked from then on causes a beep and nothing happens.
I have to use TaskManager to kill the program. Both the Win2k and the
Win98 machines have much less memory (128mb and 32mb) and I suspect it
might be a memory problem, but I am not sure. I tried cutting some
large arrays down but it didn't help. The rest of the program appears
to work fine on all of the machines. I can also
open the about box on the Win2k and Win98 machines. I put debugging
statements and discovered that the program hangs just before it
finishes the work within the form but before it displays it. It never
shows the form. It works perfectly on XP but fails on the Win98/Win2k
machines.

I would be happy to just have an error message and prevent the hangup.
Any thoughts on where to go from here? I am in final testing and
would like to
release the program, but not in this state.

Any suggestions or help would be most appreciated.

Thanks
Hal
