Can't change App Icon

Hi,

When I set my app's icon in Projects|Options|Application,
it appears OK in the dialog, but when the EXE is built, it
gets changed to a standard borland one. It looks like a torch
or something. C++Builder V5, SP1

Thanks, Dan B.

Try this:

While the main file is showing in the editor look at the window in the left
column, the object inspector window, and the name of an icon is shown on a
line in there. Put in your icon.

My machine is now toast and I am answering this from my wife's machine. It
does not have BCB on it and I cannot double check what I am saying.
Therefore this is from memory. If it is not exactly correct, look around to
find what I am talking about.

Hi Ed,

Thanks for the response.

I might be doing something wrong, but I'm not sure what you mean
when you say:

What do you mean by 'Main File'? Do you mean what I would consider the
main form? If so, in that case, it didn't work. It changed the icon in the
upper
left corner of the screen, but not in the EXE. (Even after recompiling)

If, on the other hand, you mean the file that has all of the USEFORM
directives
and the like, when I have just that selected, nothing shows up in the
Objects
window.

Again, thanks for your help. The only other clue I have is this. I recently
redefined
the project so that it would make a 'monolithic' EXE, rather than one that
uses the
run-time libraries. Could this be related?

thanks, Dan B.

Sorry for the confusion. I meant the file which has the code for the main
form.

It appears that I don't remember how to do it correctly. Hopefully someone
else will chime in with a solution.

I do not think that your change from dynamic linked to static linked is
related to this.

Now that I think of it, the place where this subject most often comes up is
in the IDE group. Try asking over there.
