Hi

How would you guys execute a HLP file from Help menu?

Do you spawn the file from the click event?

Is there a standard way of calling a help file from the Help menu on my
apps menu bar?

David

Thanks.

Look into the WinHelp() API call.

There are entire chapters on that particular subject.

You could have find them yourself with these keywords: providing help hlp

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/shellcc/platform/shell/programmersguide/shell_adv/apphelp.asp

The short answer to your 3 questions is WinHelp().

If you use VCL,
Application variable (TApplication class) has a property HelpFile, which you should set. Then you can use TApplication::HelpContext for specific topics
