Hi, I have developed a Mmorpg with BCB5 and the 1 Tserversocket component, but i couldnt find any info about the max ammount of connections. I am using a windows 2003 server OS, with a dual opteron 284, 2 gig ram.. when there are 1500connections/1400 players online the CPU usage is about 20-30%, and the 100mbit network is 8-10% in use. My code is using the tserversocket, and has a third thread for all database i/o (so the game logic doesnt have to wait on that) Somehow i got a feeling there is some 'barrier' because at 1400 players, it stats to count up and down between 1440 - 1380 (average 1400)Co Could it be possible that there is a problem even though there should be still enough hardware resources? Or could several players with 'lag' cause troubles on the serverside causing this behaviour? Hopefully anyone can make this a bit more clear to me, -Arnoud www.endless-online.com massive online rpg
