If you are using BCB6, then the TStream::Position property has been changed to an __int64 instead of an int. Indexing a pointer using an __int64 value will produce that warning (I just ran across that same warning myself this week while trying to implement 64-bit streams in my own code). At runtime, it should be ok, though, since TMemoryStream does not actually implement 64-bit values greater than MaxInt (0x7FFFFFFF). Gambit
