I need to have a one way broadcast from a "server" to multiple clients, here 
is the scenario:

A server watches for events that happen in special situations, this part of 
my program is
already runnig, BUT I need to add code that can broadcast (unsolicited) that 
the event(s)
occurred. At that point any client that happened to be listening could 
update itself without
having to watch all the same things the server is already watching.

Is a socket the best way to do this? I have looked into COM and found that 
COM servers
will not broadcast an unsolicited message. I can probably work around this 
but wish I didn't
have to because the server will have to do extra work holding open a 
triggered event
until something happens to complete the sequence.
