Hello!

I want to begin to use sockets to connect via Internet to 2 applications
and, therefore, I am a beginner in the topic.
I initially only want, for example, to connect a client socket with a server
socket and to send a "hello".

I have already been reading in the help of the C++ Builder and I tried to
test the "ftpdemo.bpr" that  comes in the C++ Builder, with
"ftp.usuarios.lycos.es/" as host, but I obtain an "Invalid host"."

If this host uses it in SmartFTP I don't obtain any problem. So, I believe
that I am not following the correct steps.

I have a pc with Windows ME, a line ADSL with direccionamiento static IP and
C++ Builder 5.
Therefore somebody can, please, to tell me the basic steps that it allows me
to make a basic and successful test.
