If you are going to save the message directly to file without any processing of the message data, then I suggest you set TIdMessage's NoDecode and NoEncode properties both to true. Then you will be saving the raw message data exactly as it was downloaded. If you do not set those properties, then TIdMessage will attempt to parse the message data during loading and then regenerate its own data while saving to file. You never said which version of Indy are you actually using, but I am assuming that it is Indy 9 since that version does not handle today's everly-increasing complex message formats very well anymore.
