Hi Hans, >Did not know that CreateForm takes a TFrame. You are right it's a TForm! >Your app will be a client OR a server ? If so there is >no need to instantiate a client and a server here. I was hoping that the app will be able to operate as both a client and a server (i.e. P2P). It will be listening as a server until it is required to get information from another instance and then the server part will be deactivated and the client part activated. When the app has finished obtaining info it will switch back to a server, ready to provide info to other instances. Is this possible, is then a better way of doing this? >What is the reason that you just don't use the borland >nameconvention: This is part of a huge app which I did not write and I am just adhering to the app's standard naming convention. But I take your point and for the sake of user groups I will use borlands name convention as it makes everything clearer! >You should not Sendtext in the same OnClick handler. Instead >implement the OnConnect event of TClientSocket. I have just implemented this and the OnConnect event is never called? When file_client_pointer->Open(); is called the the client OnLookup and OnConnecting methods get called but the client OnConnect method never gets called. Do I need something else on the server side to do this? Thanks Duncan.
