Hi, Till now, I have learned how to use TClientSocket & TServerSocket to send request, process request and send back the response. This was all related to LAN which was completely isolated from the internet. I'm just curious about techniques & princips of extending the system to work on internet. Ie, what are my possibilities and what BCB6 offers to me for that. How can I setup the system to do this (imaginary): 1) Connect to internet by laptop wherever (lets say in some foreign country) 2) Start my app 3) Send some request which some server will receive lets say... file_length GET username password file.dat ...which should mean: give me the file.dat if you recognize my username+password. Also here you are the file_length to check the correctness of received request. 4) Then the server should send me the file.dat. Security is not of interest right now, although it's important question. AFAIK, my company has E-mail server which is connected to internet, and has it's domain www.companyname.com. Can you please direct me how can I (theoretically) setup this system to begin with, and what BCB6 offers me for that? -- Best regards, Vladimir Stefanovic
