Is it possible to detect if the computer is connected to the internet _without_ pinging or connecting to a host? Is there for instance a Win Api call that would tell me if internet connection is established or not? I want to display an icon if my application detects a connection, but I don't my application to start pinging some server. If 10.000 copies (hypothetically) did this i'd get some angry ISP on my neck :-)
