That's what I do also. But that was not the point. The thing
that I said was that the ShowMessage () in

     try
         {
         ClientSocket1->Open()
         }
     catch ( Exception &exception )
         {
         ShowMessage ( ... );
         }

comes up in case the host is invalid. I checked
that yesterday and today. I also said that other errors
should be treated elswere.

Testing on Win98SE. Build with bcb3.
