There is no configuration for that.  You will have to either:

1) re-write your code to access the serial port directly

2) make a separate proxy program that the main application can connect to
via TCP/UDP and have the proxy forward everything back and forth to/from the
serial port.

3) write a low-level NDIS driver that hooks the socket stack directly and
then handles forwarding data to/from the serial port.  I don't know if this
will work for Linux, though.
