installer?

Is there an actual installer for Indy 10 that a) actually EXISTS (the
"automatic install" link on the Indy site does _nothing_)
and b) works?

I'm getting really tired of fighting this thing. I try to install it
according to the instructions at :
http://www.indyproject.org/Sockets/Docs/Indy10Installation.EN.aspx

I get "This application has failed to start because IndyCore120.bpl
was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
Now why would it look for "IndyCore120" when the bpl is named
"dclIndyCore120.bpl"? Just for grins I tried renaming it, and get
a completely different error. The BPL files that were created by compiling
the system, core and protocol modules according to the instructions are
living in the same directory as the JVCL bpls that installed just fine.

What crucial bit of information am I missing to make this f'ing thing work?

I'm using RAD Studio 2007

Thanks all.

I posted some batch files and instructions in borland.public.attachments
under the subject "Updating RAD Studio to newer Indy 10" that worked for
me. You might want to give them a try.

Thanks Dennis. However, I think I'll just read the instructions better
instead. Apparently I got confused and wasn't building the right thing at
the right time. dclIndy* vs Indy*. The error suffered involved
a serious cranial/rectal inversion on my part. *ahem*

Not an autmated one, no. Only command-line batch scripts are available.

Those instructions do not take previous installations into account.

Then you did not fully compile the Core package first.

Because dclIndyCore120 uses IndyCore120. The former is the design-time
package (hense the "dcl" prefix), whereas the latter is the run-time package
instead.
