Using: Borland C++Builder v3.0 I cannot seem to be able to set the Port property of a TServerSocket at runtime as follows: ServerSocket1->Port = MyPort; I get a link error: [LinkerError] Unresolved external 'Scktcomp::TAbstractSocket::SetPortA(int) __fastcall' referenced from D:\JON\CHARTINGTEST\GUI.OBJ. Yes, I know I should be using a newer version of _everything_. Am I missing something here? Is there an easy fix for this? I've looked at the source, but a cure isn't jumping out at me. Alternatively, is there a better socket component that is simple and lite like TServerSocket that I could use in C++Builder v3.0? Jon Berndt

That is a long-standing problem caused by Microsoft's headers, not the
VCL's. This is documented on Borland's website:
How do I get rid of the unresolved external to SetPortA when using
Socket components?

I just moved the ScktComp.hpp header file up to the top of the list. No more link problems. Jon
