Hi. Did not get a response in the language group so I will post the Indy sepcific parte here and hope to get an answer. I'm trying to optimize performance of a x-tier app I have written. If I put the application server and presentation server on different machines latency of the application increases noticeably. I did not see this problem by moving the database server to a different machine. What happens: The presentation server is a TIdHttpServer decendant. If it receives a request from a browser it posts one or more xml encapsulated requests via TIdHTTP::Post to the application server. The application server sends back the xml encapsulated responses and the presentation server creates a HTML page out of it and sends it back to the client. Any ideas why TIdHTTP::Post ist so much faster over a loopback connection than a LAN connection? I tested with 100-BaseT and 1000-BaseT which shows no difference at all (The amount of data transferred is quite small about 5k) Thanks Regards, Frank
