TIdHTTP's timeout-settings seem not to work correctly!?

I'm setting a TIdHTTP's ConnectTimeout and ReadTimeout properties to a
value about 200ms. When I am trying to Get() an address, which is not
available it takes much longer (about 15s) until Get() finishes.

I have to add that I am connected to a LAN-router and plugged out the
connection between it and the internet itself: if I cut the line
between the computer and the router Get() seems to work as intended:
after a quite short time it finishes with the expected error.

So perhaps I have to set another timeout-property?

Thanks,

Michael

200ms is fine for a ReadTimeout, but that is generally too small for a
ConnectTimeout, especially if a DNS query has to be performed. There are no
DNS timeouts available, and network latency can cause slow connections.

There aren't any other timeouts.

Thank you.

Because I suppose this connection-loose will not occur to often it's
not so problematic, if the application is blocked for about 1/4 minute
in this case.

In the other cases I tried (e.g. giving an html-.address which does
not exist it times-out like intended...

Thanks,

Michael
