Hi, I see, that Indy is installed with Turbo C++, but I can't get it to work... I have "old" Turbo c++ version, downloaded 06.09.06. On clean system, I install prereqs and Turbo c++ (full instalation). I create new VCL Windows project. I insert code in the cpp file: " TIdTCPClient *C=new TIdTCPClient(NULL); " I insert an include: "#include <IdTCPClient.hpp>" When I try to compile it, there are shown two linker errors about unresolved externals: [Linker Error] Error: Unresolved external 'Idtcpclient::TIdTCPClient::' ... [Linker Error] Error: Unresolved external '__fastcall Idtcpclient::TIdTCPClient::TIdTCPClient I changed "Library search path" and "Pascal unit search path" and added all folders in $(BDS)\lib folder, but it didn't help. How to make indy to work? Thank you in advance - it is very important to me, I try to "upgrade" my project from Bcb5.

You did not add Indy's actual library into the project. Since you did not
drop the TIdTCPClient component onto your TForm, the IDE will not insert the
library into the project automatically for you, so you have to do it
yourself separately. At the very least, you can add the following statement
to your code:
#pragma link "IdTCPClient"

All that does is tells the IDE where the libraries can be found, but that
does not actually add the libraries themselves to the project.

The Linker couldn't find IdTCPClient.OBJ I tried various combinations of #pragma link "IndyCore.lib" #pragma link "IndySystem.lib" with and without the lib and also IdTCPClient.dcu. Finally got it to work with #pragma link "indy.lib", in the lib/release directory. I also have a TB97 component package. I was wondering how to use that, since there is no lib files with that, but .pas, .cpp, .dpk, ,.bpk files. Ralph

Use the IDE's "Add to Project" option instead. Gambit

The example programs for CBuilder don't have any include statements for the component, so I was wondering how to use it in Turbo Explorer. Ralph
