Hello world, I tried the Basic Client-Server example from
Builder 6.0, from Indy folder (Who is Indy? it's sound like a
person name...), When I tested it on a single computer it looks
like it's working, first I run the 'Server' application, then I
run the 'Client' application, clicked on the button, and I got
the "Hollo" line message in the ListBox, But if I run
the 'Server' application on one PC, and then I run the 'Client'
application on another computer that is connected to the firt
one by a local networking, then when I click on the button I
get an error message saying - "Socket Error # 10061 Connection
refused"

Can someone please explain to me this example and what should I
do in order to make 2 computers talk with each other using this
Client-Server applications?

Thanks very much!

Ori.

"Indy" is short for "Internet Direct" - http://www.indyproject.org

There are only two possible causes of that particular error:

1) the client is trying to connect to an IP/Port that does not have a server
listening on it.

2) there is a server listening, but it has too many pending connections to
accept any more at that time.

If you are running a simple test with a single client, then #1 is most
likely your problem. What EXACTLY are your settings for both the server and
client? Does the client machine even have access to the server machine?

Or, Windows Firewall is blocking the connection. If so, the other PC will be
showing a Windows Firewall message box asking whether to Unblock the request
or not.
