TIdHTTP component and BCB2006

I have a trivial application using an TIdHTTP component working fine under
BCB6:
void __fastcall TForm1::Button1Click(TObject *Sender)
{
String response = IdHTTP1->Get(Edit1->Text);
Memo1->Clear();
Memo1->Lines->Add(response);
}
when I type an url into Edit1, and press Button1, I can see the server's
response into Memo1 .
Now, if I try to open my project with BCB2006, it first tells me that
IdHTTP1->Request.ProxyPort does not exist.
It compiles and then at start it gives an EAccessViolation error.
What's wrong?
thanks

Since the HTML likely has line breaks in it, you should assign the Text
property instead, ie:
void __fastcall TForm1::Button1Click(TObject *Sender)
{
Memo1->Text = IdHTTP1->Get(Edit1->Text);
}

Did you install Indy 9 or 10 when you installed BDS? Which version of Indy
were you previously using? I'm guessing that you were using Indy 8, because
BCB6 ships with Indy 8 preinsalled, and there is no Request.ProxyPort
property in either Indy 9 or 10. ProxyPort is a subproperty of the
ProxyParams property now.

ProxyPort is a subproperty of the > ProxyParams property now. Yes, I was using BCB6 with Indy 8. But I have not set any value for Request.ProxyPort, which has default value 0. I installed BDS2006 Pro from CBuilder2006 CD. This is the line I read on Version Info on About Box. indy100.bpl, 9.0.50.0, C:\Programmi\Borland\BDS\4.0\Bin\ Now is there any way to make that code work properly under BDS2006? thanks masi urbano

Your DFM is obviously referencing that property, though, or else you would not have gotten the error at all. > Now is there any way to make that code work properly under BDS2006? Well, for starters, you need to update your DFM so that it does not reference non-existant properties anymore. Gambit

Could there be a conflict with versions 8/9/10? Perhaps 8 wasn't properly removed, and is being called with different data structures from 9? Just guessing from the bpl / non-bpl-ness of the problem.

But I was trying to use the same sources, with different project files (.bpr and .bdsproj) because at this time I can't be sure about ultimately migrating entire app to BCB2006. I want to ensure the chance of a downgrade to BCB6. Thanks a lot for help. masi urbano
