SSL and IdHTTP
#2719

I've written a CGI server and .EXE client that have been happily
communicating for ages. A client needs to put the CGI on a secure server
(HTTPS) and has a SSL certificate from Verisign.

I'm using IdHTTP and it says I need to add an TIdSSLConnectionIntercept
but it all seems a bit obscure.

Has anyone done this? Can anyone suggest some examples or help?

thanks

Roland

You must be using a VERY old version of Indy then, probably Indy 8. There
is no TIdSSLConnectionIntercept class anymore. In Indy 9, it is named
TIdSSLIOHandlerSocket (and as the name suggests, it is an IOHAndler, not an
Intercept). In Indy 10, it is named TIdSSLIOHandlerSocketOpenSSL.

I'm happy to update if necessary.

Regardless, I'm sure I need to add something extra to the client exe.
I'm looking for examples or tutes. I've found only one on
http://www.intelicom.si and that's a bit brief. Any clues?

thanks

All you need is to attach the SSL IOHandler to the TIdHTTP component.
