Hi!

Has anyone tried to use the new bds 2006 C++ with the indy components??
I can't get them to work..
Not even as simple as creating a new vcl form project.. and drop a indy
component for example the TIdUDPClient.
getting compiler error and file not found on all my indy includes

Has anyone a solution???

Which version of Indy did you install? I had the same problem at home
when I was playing around and I think it's because the C++ personality
only supports Indy 10.

Oops!

I don't actually use Indy normally. I just had an idea for a small
project at home and decided to play. When I mentioned the issue to some
people they said it was probably because I'd installed Indy 10.

I, some tima ago, tried to use Indy 10 with BCB6 and after two days
trying, I has to quit. My 2 cents: use Indy 9 components , they work.
fine. And from the time that Indy author was employed by Microsoft,
Indy progress has more or less stopped.

It is the other way around. Indy 9 is the only version officially supported
for C++ at the moment.

Yes, and it always has in earlier BCB versions as well. But that is not the
issue with Indy 10. Indy 10 itself does not fully support C++ yet. Some of
the generated C++ header files are not compatible. This is a problem in
Indy's Pascal source code, not a BDS error. It is being worked on by Indy's
developers.
