Bare LFs in SMTP
#2858

Sometimes I cannot send emails with the TIdSMTP Component.

Error: Socket Error # 10054 Connection reset by peer.
The servers reply was: See http://pobox.com/~djb/docs/smtplf.html

Is this a bug? I don't know which files I need to change to solve this
problem.

Which version of Indy are you using? You are probably using an old build,
since that problem has already been fixed a long time ago.

Thanks for reply. Version 9.0.18 for C++Builder 6. I need to fix this for my
current project! Please help me.

Try upgrading to the 9.0.50 development snapshot.

Done. Still receive error message from the server!

Then please show your actual code. The "bare LF" error is commonly causes
by the lines of your message being too long.

But what you say does not work! If I create one text part and one attachment
part, Indy removes the text part completely. Please compile my test example
below. Write something to the Text field and leave the HTML field empty.
Also add a file to the list und click send.
Then see the saved test.eml file. Indy removes the text part, but why?

Example: http://www.newscenterx.de/temp/indytest.zip

Just saying it doesn't work says nothing about the actual problem you are
having. Always provide specific details.

Indy does not remove anything, so if the message is not being formatted
correctly during transmission, then you did not set up the TIdMessage
correctly.

I am not able to download that file.

Since I can't see the code right now, my only guess is that you did not set
up the TIdMessage correctly for that scenerio.
