Hi there, I am using C++ Builder 6 and Indy 9. I want to know how to receive email on IdPOP3Server. Please also suggest the documentation/Demos links on IdPOP3server. Thanks, viv.

The POP3 server is not for receiving email from clients. It is for sending
email to clients. If you want to receive email from clients, you need to
use TIdSMTPServer instead.
If, on the other hand, you are actually asking how to make TIdPOP3Server
send email to clients, then you need to use the OnRetr event. It is your
own responsibility to store the message contents somewhere and to keep track
of message numbers. When the event gives you a number, you have to send the
contents of the appropriate message to the client, via the
ASender.Thread.Connection object.
void __fastcall TForm1::IdPOP3Server1Retr(TIdCommand *ASender, int
AMessageNum)
{
// load the message data for AMessageNum...
ASender->Thread->Connection->WriteLn("+OK Message follows");
// send the message data ...
ASender->Thread->Connection->WriteLn(".");
}

There is documentation on Indy's website.

Thanks Remy for your prompt reply. > The POP3 server is not for receiving email from clients. It is for > sending > email to clients. So as to send emails to clients, how POP3 server received this emails. Does SMTPServer send emails to POP3Server? If yes then How this Process takes place? Thanks, viv.

SMTP receives the email from a client and then stores the data somewhere that POP3 can then access it later. Gambit
